On this day in 1238, Jacques 1st of Aragon entered the city of Valencia in a major step on the long road to liberate Spain from the tyranny of the Moors.

The Reconquista had started five centuries earlier, and took more than 200 more years to complete (see video below).

For seven centuries, Christian warriors dared and died to break the Muslim yoke, free their people and return Spain and Portugal to the True Faith. God grant that future generations will see the same process repeated all over Europe! Deus Vult!
